OFFICIALS APPLICATION

WHAT IS EXPECTED

TRAVEL & CHECK-IN

All officials are required to arrange their own travel accommodations.

FFWCT Officials Host Hotel will be released soon. Officials have the option to have FFWCT reserve their hotel room (2 officials per room) at no extra cost. If you do not choose this option then you will be responsible for your own housing arrangements.

Approved travelling officials that are not using the FFWCT hotel reservation option will be awarded up to $140 housing allowance to assist with hotel accommodations after receipt is turned in.

All Referees will need to report to the mandatory Referees Clinic that will be held at Harold Patterson Sports Center on Thursday, May 23rd from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

When Referees check-in they will receive their parking pass and officials badge.

COMPENSATION

Referees that attending the training meeting on Thursday will be paid in the following amounts per game for the following styles:

  • 4v4 – $15*
  • 5v5 – $15*
  • 7v7/8v8 Screen – $25*
  • 8v8 Contact – $30*

* Referees that did not attend the clinic will get paid $3 less per game for 4v4 and 5v5 games, and $5 less per game for 7v7, 8v8 games.

ATTIRE

All Referees will be required to have standard Referee attire at all times

  • Black Hat
  • Black Shorts or Black Pants
  • Black Shoes or Cleats
  • (1) Whistle & (1) Stop Watch
  • Yellow Flags

All Referees MUST know the rules of their specific styles according to the FFWCT rules, protest procedures, and challenge protest – www.usaflag.org/flag-football-rules

GAMEDAY

Referees will need to arrive at the fields at 1 hour before their first scheduled game. 

Referees will receive (2) meal tickets per day to eat lunch & dinner during the tournament. You will receive your meal voucher from your Director each morning before the tournament begins. Meal tickets will include 1 entree, 1 side and 1 non-alcoholic beverage. There will be an express line at concession for referees only, so you do not have to wait in the lines.  Water and other snacks will also be provided throughout each day

ABOUT THE EVENT

The FFWCT’s Flag Football World Championships is held in Arlington, Texas on May 24-26, 2019.

All officials are expected to arrive  by 11am on Thursday, May 23rd at the latest. Officials are required to report to training at 1:00pm to the fields, address below. Games begin at 8:00am on Friday, May 24th, and all officials are expected to be available all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and return home late Sunday night or Monday Morning.
