What's This?

We thought it would be fun to post our flag football rankings for the top 4 on 4 teams in the country, so below is how it stands as of today.  As I was prepping to write this, I text a couple of people to see who they would rank and where they would rank them. I was surprised to see that other than a couple of variances, they were all the same teams on the list. Now they change dramatically on where they all were in the rankings. So since I have played with or against all these teams I feel like I can rank them fairly well. I will be honest 3-6 are all interchangeable to me so this is where I will catch some crap.

PENGUINS – Youngstown, OH

Probably the biggest surprise to ever win Roswell when they won it in 2012. A seasoned team with a lot of players that show up and do what they are supposed to. An unlucky draw hurt them in this year’s national tournament but they typically have good showings. That’s why they squeak into the top 10.

FREAKS – Dallas, TX

A very experienced team that seems to keep reloading. Half of this team was with Blackout when they finished 1st and 2nd a couple years ago in Roswell. They have been playing pretty well locally in Dallas but haven’t settled in on a roster yet. They should rebound after an average showing last year in Roswell.

HEAT – Dallas, TX

Still an up and coming team. Had a decent run at nationals this year and a 5th place finish at Roswell. Although they are getting their roster finalized, they are in the hunt in most of the local Dallas Tournaments. After a couple more national showings they should move up the rankings.

GET OFF ME – Jacksonville, FL

Another Florida team cracks the top 10. Get Off Me seems to be on a roller coaster over the last couple of years. From 2 top 3 finishes to a below average showing in Roswell. From everything I hear they are a force to reckon with in Florida tournaments. 3rd best team in Florida, 7th in our rankings.

SKIN – California

This team runs the West Coast for the most part. Roswell seems to be one of the only national tournaments that they play in though. Having said that, Skin is a beast on the field. I haven’t seen them finish outside the top 6 in forever. Until I do, they will be on this list.

LOONEY TOONS – Dallas, TX

The only reason they are not in the top 3 is because they haven’t done it on a national stage yet. They took down the latest Elite championship in Dallas a couple months back beating Outkast, Goose Crew, and double dipping Blackout to win it. If they make a deep run in Roswell and continue their local success they will skyrocket up the rankings.

OUTKAST – Dallas, TX

No this is not me being a homer… Well maybe a little. Outkast is one of those weird teams that only plays a couple of times a year. When they play locally it is kind of thrown together and never with their full squad.  A 4th place in Roswell this last year and 2nd the year before, makes me settle on 4th in the rankings.

SIK WIT IT – Jacksonville, FL

A second place finish at nationals is nothing to shy away from. This team plays well in every tournament that they are in. It’s been a couple of years since they were at Roswell but I have never seen them outside the top 5. Looking forward to seeing them again this year.

A second place finish at nationals is nothing to shy away from. This team plays well in every tournament that they are in. It’s been a couple of years since they were at Roswell but I have never seen them outside the top 5. Looking forward to seeing them again this year.

BLACKOUT – Dallas, TX

BLACKOUT

As much as it pains me to put them at the top of the list, I have to do it. When they are playing with their full team they’re almost impossible to beat. They ran through this year’s Roswell group blowing out the final 3 opponents they faced. They are loud and obnoxious but you have to respect their play.

Feel free to call me an idiot because I won’t fight you on it.If your flag football team is off the list don’t be afraid to tell me why you should be on there so I can tell you why you are nuts. If you don’t like where you are at on this list…. Get better!! One love!
