The Flag Football World Championship Tour (FFWCT) announced a new partnership today with USA Football to become a preferred athlete scouting partner for the 2021 calendar year for the U.S. Men’s and Women’s Flag National Teams. USA Football, the sport’s national governing body and a member of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), manages U.S. National Teams for international play.

“We are excited to partner with USA Football in an official capacity,” said FFWCT co-founders TRAVIS BURNETT and CHARLES DAVIS. “The partnership will allow USA Football to utilize our larger events as official scouting opportunities for the Men’s & Women’s U.S. Flag National Teams.”

As a preferred athlete scouting partner for the U.S. Men’s and Women’s Flag National Teams, USA Football staff will evaluate athletes at select FFWCT tournaments for U.S. National Team roster positions. U.S. Men’s and Women’s Flag National Teams compete globally in premier events such as the biannual International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Flag World Championships and The World Games. The World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Ala., with 30-plus sports featured, marks the first time that flag football will be played on a multi-sport, global stage.

“Flag football is a burgeoning sport on youth and adult levels and the FFWCT’s elite-level play has helped inspire the game’s popularity,” USA Football CEO & Executive Director SCOTT HALLENBECK said. “We’re excited to have the FFWCT partner with our U.S. National Team program and enhance our high-performance player pathway. The Tour’s premier events and players lift our sport’s trajectory even higher nationwide and internationally.”
