What's This?

It is a very exciting time for flag football and the FFWCT looks to continue to push the envelope and deliver the best experience for both our adult and youth players alike! In an effort to continue growing and developing the sport for all age groups, we are ready to announce some major changes we have in store for the youth divisions at all our major tournaments for 2019 and beyond!

Following up on the 700 team Battle Orlando National Championships that was by all accounts the largest single-weekend flag football tournament on record, and in preparation for our World Championships in Arlington this May, we believe these changes will continue pushing the envelope for what is an already booming sport globally!

Here are some of the key changes to look forward to with more details below:

2020 Nationals

CAPTAINS MEETING & MEDIA NIGHT AT DISNEY SPRINGS

After the incredible turnout at the House of Blues Disney Springs for the adult divisions we have decided to have our Media Night and captains’ meetings at Disney Springs for the youth divisions as well. We will be announcing the time split between youth and adult here in the coming months! Youth players and parents/families can now enjoy freebies and giveaways such as swag bags, sponsor prizes and many more opportunities to enjoy your time in Orlando!

5 GAME GUARANTEE

In an additional effort to further enhance the tournament experience for the youth participants as well, we have decided to give the youth more guaranteed games which will give your players and parents more value for their trip! Get your kids plenty of play time and your money’s worth from the event! Each team will play 2 pool play games per day, with each team advancing to single elimination playoffs.

ALL GAMES AT AUSTIN TINDALL (IN KISSIMMEE)

We want both the youth athletes and their parents/families to enjoy the perks of being around all of the national brand partners! This means parents and youth athletes can now enjoy freebies, samples and products from nationally known brands that have been a part of Battle Orlando both currently and in the past! This includes big names like EA Sports, NERF, Hotels.com, La Colombe Coffee, Pro Supps, Wilson Football, Battle Sports, Addix apparel, and many more! Be a part of the main event for an event that will feel bigger than ever before!

7v7 GIRLS DIVISION NOW ADDED

Girls flag football is exploding all across the world and with girls 7v7 flag football being a varsity sport in several states including Florida, we felt it was only right they finally have a home to compete for a National Championship! We have already received interest from international teams as well and believe this will be a huge addition to our division offerings!

ENJOY ALL ORLANDO HAS TO OFFER

In an effort to make traveling to Orlando the best and easiest experience for parents we have decided that the youth divisions are no longer stay to play just like the adult divisions are! Now you have the opportunity to stay WHEREVER YOU WANT ?, all we ask is that you book your hotel or rental houses somewhere in Kissimmee or Osceola county! We will have an official link from our rental house partner soon so you can save more $ on your lodging for 2020 which now includes the ability to put a deposit and reserve a house and pay for it as you go! This should be a huge savings to most teams, and what better way to celebrate than to take advantage of our exclusive theme park discounts (coming soon) for Disney, Universal Studios, Sea World and more to make the most of your vacation!

Battle Points & Paid Bids

Starting June 1st, 2019, all FFWCT or sanctioned youth events will now be a part of our Battle point system for national rankings! This means you now have more opportunities to compete to earn points, rankings and bids! Not only that, we are now allowing teams to redeem their paid bids won at FFWCT or sanctioned tournaments at either our National Championships in Orlando every January OR our World Championships in Arlington, TX in May! This will give teams more options to earn additional bids or play in the tournament that makes the most sense for your team! Battle Points are also used for seeding teams into Nationals and Worlds where you have more control over your schedule, matchups, etc. View more information here on how the draft works by clicking on the Draft Seeding section in the FAQ’s.

Youth Sanctioning

The FFWCT is now offering additional options for youth sanctioning that allow any league or tournament to offer Battle Points at no cost, and additional levels for offering bids, utilizing our insurance, getting promoted and more! If your team plays in a local league or tournament there should be no reason they can’t sanction with the FFWCT to help your team get ranked and points for seeding at no cost or take advantage of the other benefits for the paid tiers! Click here for more information on sanctioning and share with your league!
